An incumbent member of Mampang Barangay Council along with her son and also an alleged drug addict were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Tetuan Police Station last Wednesday night.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Kagawad Pilar Dagalea y Binarao,64, widow, her son Dexter Dagalea y Binarao alias “Batita”, 36, married, both of Purok 4, Mampang and Joebert Eijansantos y Hortilano, 31, of Tugbungan.

According to the Tetuan Police Station, the police buy-bust operation was conducted around 9 p.m. and it was carried out against Dexter who the police operatives have already been monitoring for his alleged illicit drug trade.

The police investigator said that Dexter was already nabbed before for his involvement in the illegal drug trade in his barangay.

Supt. Nonito Asdai personally led the buy-bust operation after receiving intelligence report that the house of the said kagawad is allegedly being used as drug den.

Asdai said that the police operatives recovered the P200 marked money used for the buy-bust of a sachet of shabu and eight more sachets of shabu inside the Dagalea’s residence. In addition, they also confiscated sixty pieces large empty plastic sachets and one disposable lighter.

The barangay kagawad and the two other suspects were immediately brought to the Tetuan Police Station where they are now detained pending the filing of drug charges against them in court.

The seized drug items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examinations.

Police estimated that the seized drugs have a market value P2,250.

It can be noted that theTetuan Police Station have already arrested many drug pushers and drug dependents in the intensified anti-drug campaign in its area of responsibility (AOR).-Dan Toribio
