PRO9 augments security forces in Hermosa Festival PDF Print E-mail

Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Billy B. Beltran has disclosed that a company of SAF troopers are currently deployed in the city to augment police and military forces implementing security measures in the month-long Zamboanga Hermosa Festival.

Chief. Supt. Beltan said that he ordered Sr. Supt. Redentor Retusto, chief of the Regional Public Safety Battalion to augment and support  the security forces in Zamboanga City for the duration of the festival.

Under the comprehensive security plan of the festival, troopers of the Regional Public safety Battalion will conduct regular random mobile check points, mobile patrols in vital installations, guard the entry and exit points of the city proper. In addition, the troopers will also guard different places of events to ensure and safeguard the public.

PRO-9 also utilized drones to conduct security surveillance and monitoring  of the different activities during the festivity, According to Beltran.

He added that the RPSB troopers are closely coordinating with Task Force Zamboanga in its deployment of troopers so that there will no duplication of duties.

The Task Force Zamboanga has also organized composite teams coming from the Philippine Coast Guards, Phil. Air Force and  Philippine Navy.

Regional Maritime Unit-9 under Sr. Supt. Pedro Solibao is also helping secure the city amid the festivity by stationing sea crafts in the coastal areas which conduct regular seaborne operations --(Allen Abastillas)
