The Philippine Navy Flag Officer in Command Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph S. Mercado graced the 21st Naval Forces Western Mindanao Command Founding anniversary yesterday morning.

The theme of the anniversary  was “ 21st Years of Selfess Service Towards a Prosperous and Secure Western Mindanao”.

Mercado said in his message underscored that the navy has experienced lots of challenges and sacrifices but still the naval forces here continue to persevere and excel in their mandated mission.

“A lot of challenges may have crossed  our path this past year but I am proud to say that NFVMC never faltered or ceased to deliver desired results and render only the highest standard and most honorable service to our maritime nation,” Vice Admiral Mercado stressed.

Mercado also cited the NFWMC officers and men and civilian employees for also being actively involved in community and developmental projects and programs here in the region.

The highest navy official of the country also lead in the giving of awards to deserving officers and personnel yesterday’s awarding rites.

The awardees of the 21st anniversary are; LTJG. Nekson B. Baldovino, S1DP Jonard Enolpe, CPL Queenie A. Divino, 2LT. Loraine A. Torrena, YNI Lizel F. Chiong, Alvin P. Olazo, BRP Cebu, BRP Filipino Flojo, BRP Ivatan, Boat Attack BA 484, Marine Battalion Landing Team 5, Naval Intelligence Security Group-Western Mindanao Philippine Marine Ready Force Sulu,  Thaisan, YL Fishing Company, Golden Ribbon Bakeshop, Universal Canning Inc.,  Evelyn Amik, Tala Foundation, Happy Tent Foundation, Kayang-Kaya Mission International, Crystal Clear Vision Center, Advenstist Medical Center Iligan and Ciudad Medical Zamboanga.
