Man shot and wounded while driving motorcycle in San Jose Print

A 20 year-old motorcyclist was wounded while his companions escaped unhurt in a gun attack along San Jose Road yesterday early morning.

The victim was identified as Alexis Cabato y Torres, of Arcillas Street, Mercedes. He sustained a bullet wound in the right arm and was taken to the hospital.

Initial investigation showed that around 4 a.m. Cabato and his friends were riding in their respective motorcycles passing along San Jose Road and upon reaching the junction of Johnston Street, they heard a gunshot fired from the dimly –lit portion of the road.

However, they dismissed it as nothing  and they continued driving until when Cabato felt that his right arm was getting numb.

Cabato stopped his motorcycle and was surprised tofind out that he was hit by a bullet fired by the gunman who was standing along the junction of San Jose Road and Johnston Drive.

Cabato was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

The victim said that he is not sure if the gunman was targeting him or his other companions

Police were still digging deeply on the case for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect. – Dan Toribio
