Arrested Abu Sayyaf Group member committed to City Jail PDF Print E-mail

A suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf Group who was arrested in Paseo del Mar last Thursday afternoon was already committed to the Zamboanga City Jail last Friday.

According to the police, Hussin T. Iril alias Ibba Gani was positively identified by a witness as an ASG member and involved in the Golden Harvest kidnapping in Tairan, Lantawan, Basilan last 2001.

Iril was taken to the Regional Trial Court branch 15 for return of warrant with an attached sworn affidavit of the witness.

Thereafter, the court issued a commitment order to detain the accused  Abu Sayyaf member in Zamboanga City Jail.

Iril was arrested by combined units of the police and the military at around 4 p.m. at the vicinity of Paseo del Mar last Thursday.

The warrant of arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court in Basilan for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping in Golden Harvest in Tairan, Lantawan, Basilan last 2001. – Dan Toribio
