Basilan residents are protesting the LandTransporation Office’s failure to provide plastic drivers’ license cards to applicants.

Drivers are reportedly complaining since they can not use the paper receipts provided by the LTO to serve as government identification cards.

LTO Basilan District Officer Habier Kalbi said that his office has run out of stock of plastic drivers license cards with the 3 and 5-year validity.

He explained that his office is currently facing a problem on how to cover up the backlog which has been existing since last year and has been continuing up to the present time.

The LTO Basilan office has also reportedly requested for the delivery of drivers licenses with a 5-year validity but has not received any so far.  (Allen Abastillas)
