The bodies of Isnilon Hapilon and Omarkhayam Maute will be subjected to DNA tests to determine the identities of the cadavers recovered at the scene of a deadly assault in Marawi last Monday.

This was revealed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana who confirmed the death of the two terrorists at a press conference last Monday.

"They will be subjected to DNA tests because there are rewards,"  Lorenzana said.

The United States government has offered a reward of USD5-million for the capture of Hapilon, labeled as Most Wanted Terrorist.

President Rodrigo Duterte has offered a reward of PHP 5-million each for the capture of Hapilon and the Maute brothers.

The two were killed during an assault by government troops at a building in Marawi city's warzone last Monday.

Authorities are still looking for another terrorist, Dr Mahmud Ahmad, a Malaysian national said to still be holed up inside the warzone in Marawi city.  (Liza Jocson)
