Around 300 passengers have been stranded at the local port for several days now due to rains which continued to fall in the city.

The Zamboanga Coast Guard Station has been suspending the passenger vessel trips to island provinces due to harsh weather conditions prevailing since Sunday.

Majority of the passengers are complaining about their condition while waiting for their vessels in the area.

A passenger, Hadji Amsir Bascones said that the shipping company officials who own the vessel they are supposed to board does not bother  to provide them with amenties to ease their stay at the local port.

Another passenger complained that personnel from the passenger terminal are requiring them to pay additional fees due to their extended stay.

The Zamboanga Coast Guard Station has suspended voyages from Zamboanga to Basilan, Jolo and Tawi Tawi due to severe weather conditions starting last Sunday.  (E-media)
