The local government is heading up the preparations for the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in the City on November 1 and 2.

As part of the preparations, government agencies and sectors involved in the upcoming Undas will convene at 2 p.m. today, October 19, to take up matters regarding the security, traffic, sanitation, and health details for the annual observance.

Expected to attend the meeting are police and military authorities, barangay officials, religious leaders, civic groups and volunteer brigades.

In anticipation of the crowd who will flock to cemeteries and memorial parks for Undas, the local government together with police and military are expected to implement a comprehensive security plan to ensure a peaceful and solemn observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in the City.

Mayor BengClimaco is also expected to issue executive orders to prescribe rules and regulations for public behavior within public and private cemeteries.

As with previous observances of Undas, these directives will include a temporary traffic rerouting scheme, prohibition of loud music and gambling in cemeteries as well as prohibitions in the bringing in of firearms and bladed weapons.-(Jasmine Mohammadsali)
