Abaton attends budget hearing in Lower House PDF Print E-mail

Land Transportation Office-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton attended last Monday in Manila the budget hearing for the approval of the funding of the annual operational expenses of the different  LTO regional  offices.

The hearing was held by the House Committee on Budget and  Expropriation for the fiscal year budget for 2012.
Abaton  said that this year, the Department of Budget and Management has allocated P12 million for annual operational expenses of the different LTO district offices and extension offices. This was approved by the House Committee on Budget. This funds is used for electricity, water, salaries of  employees (regular and contractual), office supplies, and maintenance of motorvehicles.

Abaton expressed optimism that the House Committee will increase by 5% the funds for his annual operational expenses  for 2012.
He said that his revenue collection for 2010 totalled P 262 million. His target revenue collection for 2011 is P 275 million. Abaton is positive that he will surpass the revenue collection target.

Abaton also disclosed that the Department of Energy has lifted again the deadline on the submission of application by beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pasada cards.
He said it is the third time that DOE has lifted the  deadline .

He said he has suggested to LTO central office to consider the applications of beneficiaries if there are lapses in the submission of documents. —  Allen Abastillas
