City Jail Warden  Supt. Allan Vargas led jail personnel in blood  donation activities in line with the observance of National Correction Consciousness Week yesterday at the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center.

The blood donation was intended for the blood bank of the Zamboanga City Medical Center.

Vargas said that all qualified personnel of the BJMP detailed at the City Jail participated in the activity.

Vargas added that qualified jail personnel donate blood quarterly to help patients of the hospital.

The jail warden said that it is the objective of the BJMP to help save lives in the community.

Meanwhile, other activities listed in the week-long celebration includes basket ball games for the inmates and the display of the products produced by some detainees.

Vargas named some products being sold by the inmates such as the Christmas decorations, candles, bags, pillow and many others, which are available inside the City Jail. – DanToribio
