Rains may result to an increase in the price of flowers this coming All Saints Day.

Robert Apelo, President of Zamboanga Latin Flowers Retailer’s Association said that the price of flowers may increase by at least 35 percent.

Apelo said that this is due to the effect of heavy rains on areas where Zamboanga retailers get their flowers.

Prices of flower arrangements range from P50 to P1,500.  The prices are expected to increase as new stocks of flowers arrive from Manila, Cebu and Davao.

“Si quiere tu mira all varieties of flores taki ya na Zamboanga,” Apelo said.

Salable flowers during the occasion are the Malaysian mums and those arranged flowers where according to Apelo, orders are now coming in.

Imported flowers are also available like Thailand rose, Thailand orchids, and China rose.    (RGAAGo)
