WMMC/ ZPC medical mission benefits media Print

More than 40 members of the media together with their dependents have benefited from a medical mission conducted by the West Metro Medical Center (WMMC) and the Zamboanga Press Club Inc. (ZPCI) at the Zamboanga Press Club office yesterday.

There were a total of 36 adult members of the media and 10 dependents who sought consultation from medical practitioners.

West Metro Medical Center Director Dr. Wilhelmina Hocson checked on the children while Dr. Crystal Joy Bolodo focused on the adult patients.

Other supporters of this activity are City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos, Councilor Mike Alavar and Bureau of Customs personnel.

Services include the following: consultation, blood pressure taking, random blood sugar check, uric acid screening, and cholesterol test.

ZPCI President Bong Garcia explained that the medical mission was proposed  by WMMC President Ramon Diaz when the club renewed a Memorandum of Agreement between the organization and the hospital.

The MOA provides a 5% discount for medicines bought by ZPCI members from the WMMC pharmacy.

“We are grateful to WMMC management for affording us their assistance and support,” said Garcia.

Meanwhile, ZPCI Auditor Hermie Ventura explained the objective of the activity.

“We came up with this activity para dale kita ayuda conel diatun uban na industria,” said Hermie Ventura, ZPCI Auditor and Committee Chairman on Health.

The activity will reportedly done on a yearly basis with the help of ZCPI supporters to ensure the good health of members of the media. (RGAntonet Go)
