A 51-year-old farmer died of electrocution while he was looking for his cow in Zone 2, Barangay Salaan last Saturday morning.

Culianan Police Station Commander Chief Insp. Hazel Fernandez identified the fatality as Edgardo Dela Cruz y Eugenio, married.

Dela Cruz’s daughter, Beverly Dela Cruz, discovered her father’s lifeless body lying on a vegetable patch at around 11 am.

Police said that prior to the incident,  Dela Cruz left home to look for his cow.

When the victim failed to return, his daughter set out to look for him and was shocked to find the former’s body lying motionless.

Dela Cruz was later declared dead by physicians.

Police theorized that Dela Cruz accidentally touched a live wire from a collapsed Zamcelco post while he was looking for his cow.

His body was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination. – Dan Toribio
