An alleged carnapper who demanded money for the release of his victim’s motorcycle was arrested by police during an entrapment operation in Barangay Tetuan last Saturday.

The suspect was identified as Datu Idris Tulawie y Ebrahim, 28, a native of Jolo Sulu and presently residing in Tetuan.

A report from the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9)  disclosed that Tulawie demanded P30,000 from Ahmad Tansilani y Dauh, 20, single, a student and a resident of Tumaga, for the return of his missing Raider 150 CC motorcycle.

The victim immediately reported Tulawie’s demand to police, who then planned an entrapment operation against the suspect.

Tulawie and the victim met somewhere in Tetuan last Saturday morning to consummate the deal.

Police immediately arrested the suspect after the latter received the P10,000 marked money from the victim.

DZT gathered that Tansilani’s motorcycle was discovered missing the other day.

Hours later, Tansilani received a message from Tulawie demanding the amount of P30,000 for the return of his vehicle.

Tulawie was detained at the Police Station pending the filing of charges in court. – Dan Toribio
