The woman whose headless body was found along the coastline of Sta Cruz island last October remains unidentified.

Zamboanga City Police Office Spokesperson Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang said that only one person came forward to try to identify the headless corpse.

A mother reportedly came forward to see if she can identify the cadaver as that of her missing daughter.

Chang said that the condition of the body, which was already in an advanced state of decomposition, made it difficult for anyone to properly identify such.

Chang said that the body might have been floating for at least a week before it was discovered along the coastline of small Sta Cruz island.

The headless female corpse was discovered at least a week before another female body was found in Sinunuc last Wednesday.

Police theorize that the girl might have been murdered in another area and the body washed ashore in Sta Cruz.  (Liza Jocson)
