A farmer was shot to death by his own father-in-law after a heated argument  in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte last Friday.

The victim’s grieving wife, a witness to the incident, pointed to her own father as the perpetrator of the crime.

A Police Regional Office-9 report identified the victim as Lito Bulatoc Ligal, 30 years old, married.

Prior to the incident, Ligal was having a drinking session with his father-in-law identified as Juanito Anducas Ansaga and Jeffrey Lumawan Bulawan at a house owned by a certain Temparan Bulawan.

Later that night a heated argument ensued between the victim and his two drinking companions.

Ligal went home with his wife early dawn that day not noticing that they were being followed by the two suspects.

Two hours later, the two suspects  shot the victim three times using a homemade pistol and stabbed him several times, leading to his death.

Ligal’s wife reported the incident to a nearby military detachment whose personnel arrested the duo.

Authorities confiscated a homemade pistol from Bulawan and a hunting knife from Ansaga.

The suspects are presently detained at the Siayan Municipal Police Station.  (LAJ)
