The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has issued a show cause order to Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (ZAMCELCO) District 1 Director Frederick Lim asking him to answer perjury and misrepresentation allegations.

In his letter, NEA Deputy Administrator Goldelio G. Rivera gave Director Lim 10 days to show cause as to why he should not be disqualified on the grounds stated in the formal complaint made by ZAMCELCO Board President Omar Sahi,Al Hadj.

Rivera said that NEA acted on the letter of complaint of Mr.Sahi which was received last October 23 where the latter seeks to disqualify and refrain Lim from being a ZAMCELCO Board Member representing District 1 for perjury and misrepresentation.

In the complaint, Sahi stated that Lim lied under oath when he filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC)  declaring that he is an actual consumer residing in District 1.

Further verification however showed that Lim has been residing in Barangay Pasonanca which is under District IV.

Deputy Administrator Rivera said that under Republic Act 1053, a director of an electric cooperative is required to possess all of the qualifications and none of the disqualifications stated.

Rivera said that within 10 days NEA will be issuing a final resolution to this effect with or without Director Lim's comment on the matter.

In a phone interview, Director Lim said that he has ten (10) days to respond to the NEA show cause letter.

Aside from this particular issue,  Lim said that he has already responded to a similar allegation as early as August when the Board filed  administrative cases against him.-(Bhong Simbajon/RMN News)
