Authorities confiscated 1,500 sacks of suspected smuggled rice inside a warehouse in TalonTalon Loop last Friday.

A police report showed that police spotted workers who were about to unload sacks of rice from a truck parked inside the makeshift warehouse.

When the workers noticed the policemen’s presence, the former closed the gate hurriedly, raising police suspicion on the cargo.

Police then conducted an inspection but truck drivers failed to present pertinent papers.

Police identified the truck drivers as Christian Lorenzo, Asdang Sanudi, Abang Mohammad, Ruben Umigas, Subimar Alih and Abdugamar Salim.

The trucks and the sacks of rice were turned over to the Bureau of Customs for disposition.  (DanToribio)
