The Lamitan City Council has passed a resolution asking the Office of the President and other government agencies to address the city’s power crisis.

This is due to the 18 to 20-hour blackout Lamitan city is currently experiencing everyday.

The resolution was addressed to the Department of Energy, the  National Electrification Administration and the Office of the  President.

Councilor Joaquin Puri Jr., author of the resolution, said that  the services of Basilan Electric Cooperative is very inefficient  and poor.

“Mucho ta queda maga appliances quebrao por causa del fluctuation del electrisidad pati todo dia blackout,”  said Puri. Councilor Clarito San Juan disclosed that the city is helping  Baselco in clearing every street of tree branches to free electric  lines from being grounded.

“What Baselco is doing is injustice and economic sabotage.   They should deliver quality service because the people are good payors and they pay on time,” said San Juan.  (Allen Abastillas)
