The Lamitan City Health Office was inaugurated yesterday morning at an area nearthe Lamitan city hall.

Lamitan Mayor Rose Furigay presided over the opening ceremonies with Msgr Valeriano Cabalog, Parochial Vicar of Lamitan City, officiating the blessing of the building.

Furigay described the project as an early Christmas gift to Lamiteños who have been waiting for the building to be completed for the past two years.

The project was partly funded by the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s Department of Health through Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman in the amount of P14-million.

The local government of Lamitan also provided counterpart funding amounting to P20-million.

Lamitan City Health Officer Dr Vicente Uy said that the building includes a birthing facility and an animal bite center.  (Allen Abastillas)
