Thousands of Bangsamoro delegates to arrive Print

Thousands of delegates from the Basilan,Sulu and Tawi-Tawi areas are expected to arrive in Zamboanga en route to Sultan Kudarat province to attend the scheduled Bangsamoro Assembly from November 26 to 27.

Participants from Tawi- Tawi and Basilan have started to arrive yesterday at the Zamboanga seaport.

Bangsamoro Tawi Tawi Coordinator Tony Said said that the initial group of 100 delegates is part of around three to four thousand from Tawi- Tawi and Basilan who will be attending the assembly.

Thousands more are expected from Sulu and Zamboanga city.

The delegations from Tawi -Tawi, Basilan and Sulu are expected to arrive between today and November 25th.

Said said that participants are merely passing by Zamboanga City and have properly coordinated with military and police authorities prior to their trip.

The Bangsamoro Assembly was originally scheduled for November 3 to 4 but was postponed to the third week of November.  This was reportedly due to commitments made by President Rodrigo Duterte on the ASEAN Summit.

The assembly was reportedly called to discuss the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL). (Remus Ong)
