A suspected drug pusher was killed while eight others  were arrested in separate drug buy- bust operations conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in their area of responsibility.

PDEA Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio disclosed that at around 1:30 a.m. last Tuesday, PDEA agents backed-up by troops of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 3 clashed with a notorious drug personality in Sitio Langub, barangay Pang, Kalinggalan Caluang, Sulu.

The skirmish resulted to the death of a certain Ladjie, also known as Kambal, but the target suspect identified as Benhar Alamansa and his cohorts eluded arrest.

PDEA agents recovered three sachets of shabu worth P600, M16 rifle with three magazines loaded with 54 ammunitions and drug paraphernalia.

Last Wednesday, PDEA agents conducted a buy-bust operation in barangay Recodo that led to the arrest of five drug personalities.

The suspects were identified as Baby Lizzeth Pangaliman y Adil, 38, married of Cornelia Subdivision, Sinunuc; Basar Jaji y Arola, 34, married, of Malandi, Patalon, Zamboanga City; Jeffrey Alagon y Coraje, 29, married, of  272 Cabato Road, Tetuan; Dante Orense y Garcia III, male, 32, single, of Culianan, and Ramil Maulidal y Daggung, 33, married of Recodo.

PDEA agents confiscated one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing more or less 2.12 grams worth P7,420, boodle money with one genuine P1,000 bill placed underneath (buy-bust money), one opened transparent plastic sachet with traces of suspected shabu,  and drug paraphernalia.

In barangay Aguada, Isabela City, Basilan, PDEA agents arrested Abdurafy Junaha y Lacomex alias Tita, 29, married of Lantawan, Basilan and Mahadil Sampang y Abdulla alias Amds, 22 of Aguada, Isabela City.

PDEA agents confiscated from their possession three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less 0.06 gram worth P900, one electronic weighing scale, one disposable lighter, one pack transparent plastic cellophane labeled “Patok” and P200 marked money.

In Zamboanga del Norte, PDEA agents backed-up by policemen and Regional Maritime Unit arrested Loremer Gonzales y Pon, 51, married.

He was arrested at his residence in barangay Banonong, Dapitan City around 9 p.m. last Monday.

Agents confiscated from his possession were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu, one medium size sachet of shabu, both weighing more or less 5.05 grams worth P25,250 and one P500 utilized as buy-bust money.

Aspacio said that the suspects were detained at the respective PDEA office for the filing of charges in court against them. – Dan Toribio
