Motorcycle drag racer hurt in accident Print

An illegal drag racer landed in the hospital and is now in critical condition after he crashed on the road while trying to elude arrest from police authorities along Nuñez Extensionm this city yesterday early morning.

The victim was identified as Absan Matingkong, 23, single of Medina Drive, Tumaga and a native of Tawi-Tawi.

A police report disclosed that Matingkong was engaging in a motorcycle drag racing with some drag racers, and  they were racing from north to south direction of Nuñez Extension around 3 a.m.

However, Matingkong was able to sense the arrival of the police and so he tried to elude and by speeding away.

But when he reached near a private hospital in the said road, he lost control of the steering bar and accidentally bumped into a parked motorcycle of SPO1 Osbert Fernando y Bengil of the PNP’s Counter Strike Unit.

Matingkong was thrown away due to the heavy impact, hitting his head on the pavement.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition while the policeman also sustained minor injuries in the body. – Dan Toribio
