2 soldiers killed in shootout with cops PDF Print E-mail

Two army soldiers were killed in a shootout with policemen in Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay last Thursday. A sales lady was wounded by a stray bullet.

A sketchy report disclosed that the two soldiers identified as Cpl. Clyde Estrada and PFC Liliantal Tumanda had shot and killed Max Abiad, a  gasoline station car wash boy.

The incident was reported to the police station which sent its men to the crime scene. However, the soldiers sped away after sensing the arrival of the policemen.

The policemen chased the soldiers and engaged them in a brief shootout resulting in the death of the two soldiers, who belonged to the 35th Infantry Battalion based in Lanao del Norte.

It was learned that the wounded saleslady identified as Alma Pablo was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

The Police Regional Office-9 has complete details of the shootout.
