Naval Forces Western Mindanao Commander Rear Admiral Rene Medina has awarded personnel of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 11 during his command visit in Sangali yesterday.

The marine troopers were awarded for their bravery and gallantry during their service in Marawi city during the recent conflict.

The awarding ceremony also coincided with the holiday visit of the NFWM Commander to troops in the area.

“Maganda yung operations nyo sa Marawi siege.  Malaki ang ginampanan nyo para ma-liberate yung area,”  said Medina.

He also commended the performance of the soldiers in guarding Zamboanga city.

Medina said that the MBLT troopers will be swapped with the Sulu-based MBLT-1 by January 2018.

“Our beloved President Duterte directed you to keep up the good and safeguard the communities in the country where you are assigned,”  Medina reminded the soldiers.

He also directed the troopers to be vigilant and alert at all times.  (Allen Abastillas)
