Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-9) confiscated P5 million worth of shabu and arrested five persons during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Maria last Saturday afternoon.

PDEA Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio disclosed that the operation was conducted jointly with the PDEA 10 Naval Inteligence Service Group (NISG) and Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) at the parking lot of an inn along Sta Maria road.

Aspacio identified the target of the operation as Sahari Sabturani y Addalani, alias Dante Solaiman,  a member of the Kubal Drug Group.

Also arrested were Ryan Rajan y Quijano, Kizzie Rajan y Tungupon, Gasi Hadjirul y Waliyul,  and Sanny Albajir, all residents of barangay Tetuan.

Lawmen confiscated from their possession 20 large-sized sachets of suspected shabu weighing one kilo worth P5 million, marked money, one Ford Ranger and a Rusi motorcycle.

The suspects were taken to the PDEA Headquarters and were detained while the seized shabu packs were turned over to the laboratory for examination.

Aspacio said that the suspects will be charged for violation of section 26 in relation to section 5 article II of Republic Act 9165, the 2002 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Dan Toribio)
