Health personnel are detecting eight cases of HIV/AIDS per month, based on health records.

From January to October 2017 alone, there have been five deaths and 74 cases recorded.

Dr. Dulce Amor Dagalea- Miravite, RHWC Physician, said that a total of 294 Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) cases from 1995 until the present time have been recorded by their office.

A total of 43 deaths were attributed to AIDS during this time.

Miravite said that more males are affected than females and the age bracket exhibiting the highest number of cases is the working group.

The youth sector is still the group with the highest number of cases with 90 cases for 25 to 34 years old and 149 cases for the 35 to 44 year old group.

Miravite said that the working group has registered the highest number of cases because they now have the time and money to explore.

Miravite further underscored the need for more information to be provided about Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV.  (RGAAGo)
