Two vintage bombs were recovered at a construction site in an east coast barangay last Wednesday afternoon.

A bulldozer operator, identified as Alvin Cortez, was conducting site clearing when he felt hard objects underground being hit by the equipment.

Surprised workers saw two vintage bombs, prompting them to call authorities.

Police personnel identified each of the bomb as an 81mm mortar which still has the capability to explode if not handled properly.

The bombs were taken to the PNP Explosives and Ordnance Office for proper disposition.

Recall that a vintage bomb was also recovered at a construction site in Abong-Abong, Pasonanca earlier this year.

The explosive was identified as a general purpose bomb used during air strikes.

The 500- pound bomb had to be lifted by a payloader to a van which carried it to the Explosives and Ordnance office. (Liza Jocson)
