The body of a 49-year-old man was recovered in an area by the river in Sitio Poso, Manicahan, two days after he was reportedly taken by strong current.

Sangali Police Station Commander Chief Insp. Chester Natividad identified the victim as Ricardo Angeles y Delos Reyes, married,  and a resident of Lamisahan.

Police said that the body of Angeles was discovered by Julieta Marcelino at around 6a.m. and was reported to the police for investigation.

Natividad said that Angeles was seen by Edwin Francisco attempting to cross the river  last Friday afternoon.

The victim however failed to go home that night prompting his family to report him as missing.

Residents suspected that Angeles was taken  away by strong water current while he was crossing the river and he drowned.

The cadaver was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination. – Dan Toribio
