Ten business establishment, including a mall and a hotel, are facing closure by City Hall due to lack of business permits.

City Licensing Officer Benjie Barredo said that these establishments were already given three notices for compliance but failed to heed the warning given by City Hall.

Barredo refused to name the businesses concerned but said that included in the list are a mall, a hotel, and some retail establishments.

Some of the establishments are located at the city proper, just a few meters away from the City Hall building.

The establishments have either operated on a temporary permit which has lapsed or has not been given any permit at all, according to Barredo.

Some of the businesses are also facing complaints for violation of environmental laws due to poor compliance on sanitation  and violations on the building code and the fire code.

“El closure order ta sale na Mayor’s Office or City Administrator’s Office, not from my office,”  Barredo explained.

He said that his office merely recommends to the Mayor and the City Administrator which businesses are for closure.  (RGAAGo)
