A fisherman was shot and wounded after refusing to buy shabu for a drug suspect during a wake in Baliwasan interior at dawn yesterday.

The victim was identified as Henry Tee Sahim, 45, a resident of Baliwasan.

He sustained a lone gunshot wound in the stomach and was taken to the hospital.

A police report showed that Sahim was attending a wake in Baliwasan Interior at around 3:10 a.m. when a certain Mad called his attention from a dimly lit area and asked him to buy shabu for him.

Sahim refused to do the request thus enraging the drug suspect and prompting him to shot the former.

When the victim plunged to the ground, the suspect hurriedly left the place.

Sahim was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Police have launched a hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect. – Dan Toribio
