Grandstand 60% completed Print

The Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex is now 60% completed and is expected to open by the first quarter of 2018.

“Na maga athletes hopefully by early next year, pwede ya kita man start training and man hold maga sports activities possible by January 2018,” said Peter Lagonera, Project Contractor.

The assessment was issued by the contractor following the installation of the rubber tracks around the track and field oval.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is the lead agency that oversees the repair and rehabilitation of the sports complex.

The contractors started  repair and rehabilitation work last March 22, 2016.

The contract cost for the rehabilitation and repair is at PhP187,065,353.12 and the contractor have 276 calendar days to finish the project.

The project was undertaken under a joint venture between the R.U. Aquino Construction and Development Corporation and RCDG Construction Corporation.

Recall, the grandstand was destroyed after more than 100,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) were housed at the area during the September 2013 Zamboanga Siege. (R.G. A A. Go)
