The Kiwanis Club of Samboangan formally inducted its new set of officers during the 36th Installation of Club Officers (KY 2017-18) held at local hotel last Saturday.

Lieutenant Governor Kwn. Reynaldo Cabilin, in a solemn rites inducted the new set of officers headed by Kwn. Canuto “Cani” P. Catbagan, President; Kwn. Percival Y. Claravall, VP-Internal (Pres. Elect); Kwn. Rodolfo G. Cartagena, VP-External; Kwn. Severino M. Landingin, VP-Youth Affairs; Kwn. Arnold Buscas, Secretary; Kwn. Aldo Ralph M. Gangoso, Assistant Secretary; Kwn. Edgar J. Galea, Club Treasurer; Kwn. Ramon L. Follosco, Sr., Public Information Officer; and the Directors are; Kwn. Ephraim Ekong, Kwn. Jonah T. Talaver, Kwn. Oscar Legados, Kwn. Geronimo B. Bolo and Kwn. Taib H. Nasaron.

This year’s theme is “Making Every Child Special”.

District II Congressman Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, who was the guest of honor and speaker, lauded and congratulated the out-going officials and the newly-inducted officers for their commitment and dedication to various activities and programs geared towards child development and well-being.

Rep. Dalipe said his office is presently constructing the P2 billion and 16-km superhighway in the coastal areas of the east coast and another highway construction project in the east coast by next year.

“We are doing all of these to leave a legacy for our children’s children because we would like, as your theme says, ‘making every child special’, we would like making every Zamboangueno child special. About 20 to 30 years from, we’ll have more opportunities and a much better developed city, and that’s a commitment to you and to everyone as congressman of the 2nd District,” Dalipe said.
