Police detectives went to the city Jail and informed Amping of the warrants of arrest for himfor murder and attempted murder with case numbers 25804 and 25055.

They were issued by Judge Jesus Carbob, Jr., of the Regional Trial Court Branch 16 on August 4 and 18, 2011.

Amping has been in jail for several months since he was arrested on the strength of a warrant for murder during a police operation in Talon-Talon.

Amping is one of the most wanted persons in Zamboanga City. He is one of those gunmen involved in the infamous spate of gun and grenade attacks in the three barangays of Talon-Talon, Mampang and Arena Blanco about years ago.

Aside from Amping,  the police arrested other gunmen. Other suspects surrendered.
