The fourth housing project logistically supported by the Agencia Española Cooperacion Internacional para del Desarollo (AECID) and the Manos Unidas was launched yesterday in Barangay Sinunuc,   Zamboanga City.

The project, called Kinaiyahan Eco-Village, houses 80 households and is under the auspices of the Katilingban para sa Kalambuan Organization and the Zamboanga-Basilan Integrated Development Alliance (ZABIDA), Inc.

Barangay Captain Pilarica Ledesma, the village chief, said the eco-village is also the 17th community in Sinunuc, as she welcomed the new residents.

ZABIDA President Fr. Angel Calvo, CMF along with Ms Jessica del Olmo, country coordinator of Manos Unidas, awarded the Certificates of Occupancy to the new homeowners.

Qualified members of registered urban poor associations who have applied for a housing grant have built the houses, with labor as their counterpart in the project.

Beneficiaries have expressed gratitude for the support of AECID, Manos Unidas, ZABIDA, and KKI. (Frencie Carreon)
