The Office of the City Administrator urged residents anew to report erring tricycle drivers so that proper actions may be undertaken.

Assistant City Administrator Cesar Raz said that residents must bring their complaints to the local government, in particular to the Tricycle Adjudication Board (TAB), so that cases may be filed.

“File complaints, that is the only way to discipline our tricycle drivers,” Raz said on Monday, December 18.

Raz assured the public that measures will be undertaken to resolve all complaints brought to the TAB’s attention. “If there are no complaints, there are no cases to be filed,” Raz lamented.

Earlier this year, the local government, through Ordinance 458, increased the administrative fines for erring drivers and operators.

Violations of the tricycle ordinance can result to administrative fines to P 5,000 including cancellation or revocation of the franchise for drivers. Offenses include refusal to convey passenger or freight to proper destination, and overcharging the authorized schedule of fare and freight, which follows a prescribed fare matrix.

Meanwhile, the Office of the City Administrator continues its campaign to enforce the traffic ordinance in the City.

For the period Dec. 8-14 a total 235 people were apprehended in traffic ordinance enforcement.

Of the total, 23 were backriding without helmet, 56 “No U-turn,” 10 disregarding traffic sugnals/gestures, 6 obstruction, 1 wearing slippers, 6 driving without helmet, 12 turning left on “No left turn” zone, 2 truck ban violators, 2 driving without requirements/miscellaneous accessories, 15 illegal parking, 1 “No loading/unloading,” 2 breach of franchise and 99 Jay Walking violators.
