The Aviation Security Group is adopting strict security measures at the Zamboanga International Airport to prevent the possible entry of terrorists in the city during the Yuletide season.

Zamboanga Aviation Station Chief Senior Insp. Roderick Francis Salem said that strict inspection and monitoring are being done on foreign nationals to prevent the possible entry of foreign terrorists.

Salem said that they try to acquire information on the identity of the foreign national, the purpose of their visit and other related matters.

City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco- Salazar has issued a directive this year for authorities to monitor foreign nationals in the city.

Earlier this week, Salazar also called on the Bureau of Immigration to monitor the entry of foreign nationals suspected as terrorists.

Meanwhile, Salem said that monitoring is also carried out on locals to prevent lawless groups from entering the city.
