Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Maj Gen Cirilito Sobejana said that the total number of firearms surrendered by the Abu Sayyaf numbered 48 for this year.

Five of the seven surrenderers were presented to Sobejana by Lt. Col. Jessie Montoya, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion.

The surrenderers and their corresponding firearms were identified as Persing Abdurasad alias Lito, 41 with his 1 garand rifle;  Midzfar Idjirani alias Che Guevara, 31 with his M-16 rifle; Tating Asid alias Black 30 with his M1-garand rifle; Amin Asjad Ismula alias  Amin 37; and Aldisar Bara Jurrani 24 with his garand rifle.
