Six persons were arrested in separate areas in Zamboanga Peninsula during continuing operations by polce and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-9) last Monday, Christmas.

The Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 6 and PDEA agents arrested three persons just after the stroke of midnight on Christmas day.

This resulted to the arrest of Darwis Sabdani y Bulol, 45; Titing Sadjail y Hassan, 47, both residents of Sta Catalina; and Julpin Kahaluddin y Suttiraya, 31 of Barangay Sta Barbara.

Police confiscated two sachets of suspected shabu and two pieces 2 hundred peso bills used as marked money.

Meanwhile illegal drug operations also led to the arrest of a barangay kagawad and two others in separate areas in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

At around 4:30pm, police operatives of RT Lim Municipal Police conducted a buy-bust operation which led to the arrest of Benjie, Lumido Flores, 52, and a barangay kagawad of Barangay Veterans Village in Ipil Municipality.

Police recovered two small sachets of suspected shabu and marked money amounting to P500.

Later that day, operatives of the Dapitan City Police Station and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bagting, Dapitan City.

This led to the arrest of Neil Jay Tomodos Tancay, 35, and Helen Cordova Tresquio, 27.

Operatives confiscated three plastic sachets of suspected shabu, wrapper and a five hundred peso bill used as buy-bust money.

The suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges in court. (Liza Jocson)
