Farmer residents in Upper Cabatangan this city had a ‘Merry Christmas’ upon the completion of their long-awaited farm-to-market road which was finally concreted after many years of suffering from muddy and slippery condition.

This after the Barangay Council of Cabatangan led by Barangay Chairman Antonio Saavedra requested from Congressman Celso Lobregat the concreting of the said road network which is the sole passage of the farmers in the upper portion of their village towards the barangay proper.

As the Committee Chairman on Public Works and Highways Congressman Lobregat responded to the request of the community and coordinated with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the allocation of funds and implementation of the said project which was also given approval by the said national government agencies.

DPWH allocated P10 million for the said farm-to-market road in Cabatangan with the length of 653 linear meters which was constructed by HENSO Construction and completed it before Christmas day.

Cabatangan Barangay Chairman Antonio Saavedra said that this access road is very necessary in the area considering that this is the only access road being used by the upland farmers in transporting their produce to the city proper

“Ta rindi gayot kame gracias aqui na Cabatangan con Congressman Lobregat, DA y DPWH por el realisasyon de este camino que bien gulud y bien tormento especialmente si ulan, aura embuenamente ya fuede pasa el mga producto del mga siembrador ariba,” Saavedra said. – Dexter Yap
