The City Health Office (CHO) has started its mass immunization of children to address the measles outbreak in the city.

Health officers have started their house to house campaign in the city’s 98 barangays  to immunize children aged 6 months up to 5 years old.

Based on health records, a total of 121,974 children are eligible for immunization.

The program is in response to a declaration of measles outbreak in the city last week.

Zamboanga Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco- Salazar declared Executive Order BC 333-2018 to address the outbreak.

The immunization program is one of the ways undertaken by the City Health Office to prevent the further spread of the disease.

The program will run until March 23 this year. (Remus Ong)
