WMSU inaugurates P28-M science hub Print

The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) has inaugurated its Science and Technology Hub last Friday at the WMSU campus.

The center, considered as the first in the city, is expected to be used by faculty members and students for research to further strengthen and enhance their creativity and innovation.

The building,  worth P28 million,  was funded by the national government.

The building will house  internet ready computer laboratories with e-library, a pure science research unit, food innovation unit, forensic laboratory, engineering research unit, and architecture unit.

Analytical services and pure science research unit will provide the site and resources for advance scientific research for  faculty members.

There will also be 10 divisions in the science and technology lab composed of: chromatography division, mass spectroscopy division, spectroscopy division, electrochemistry division, thermal division, atomic spectroscopy division, cold room, wet laboratory division, microbiology division, and chemical storage division.

The center will be opened by summer and  will become fully functional by  next school year.

The inauguration was attended by Congressmen Celso Lobregat and Mannix Dalipe with Board of Regents Chair Perfecto Alibin. (R.G. A A. Go)
