Air Force personnel arrested for motorcycle robbery Print

Police arrested two Philippine Air Force (PAF) enlisted personnel during a follow-up operation last Friday for allegedly participaing in the series of motorcycle robberies in the city.

A report from the Police Regional Office-9 identified the suspects as Sgt Arjin Jamalul Anualla and Nelson Dulaca Villanueva.

At 3:15 last Friday, police were alerted that two motorcycles without license plates were being loaded on a vessel bound for Lamitan, Basilan.

Acting on the report, police swooped down at the local wharf and found the two motorcycles aboard the boat together with its reported owners, identified as Jomar Anggao Natividad and Adhar Jamalul Iklamo, both Lamitan residents.

The two men presented photo copies of the motorcycle registration papers.

Based on the photocopy, the Honda Beat motorcycle was registered under the name of Tiffany Kaye Liong, whose motorcycle was stolen at around 8:15p.m .on February 22 at Tumaga Porcentro.

A certain Helen Sulas owned the Yamaha Mio motorcycle which was stolen at gunpoint along Lunzuran road on the same day.

Natividad and Iklamo told police that the vehicles were sold to them by Anualia and Villanueva.

Police from the Central Police Station, Divisoria Police Station and the Sta Maria Police Station conducted a joint operation at the Edwin Andrews Airbase which resulted to the arrest of the suspects.

The two suspects were taken to the Divisoria Police Station for questioning.  (Dan Toribio)
