House Committee on Public Works and Highways and Congressman Celso Lobregat revealed today that the national government thru the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Education (DepED) was obligated half a billion pesos for the classification of Outside Projects of the said department intended for the farm-to-market roads school building program of the said agencies for the 1st District of Zamboanga City.

Congressman Lobregat said that the Classified Outside Projects funds amounting to PhP516 Million has been downloaded to the implementing agency of the DPWH district Engineering Office here.

The solon said that these projects comprised farm-to-market road projects of the Department of Agriculture and the school building projects of the Department of Education, respectively which were identified by the said agencies in coordination with the office of Congressman Lobregat.

This year’s budget appropriation for the said outside projects, Lobregat said, is the biggest increase so far and the first ever in the history of Zamboanga City.

Congressman Lobregat said that the level of appropriations of outside projects increased from a low of P34 million in 2013 to P193 million in 2014; increased to P242 million in 2015; to P307 million in 2016 and increase to P516 million or more than half a billion in 2017 which is intended for 34 major projects in the 1st Congressional District.
