A tricycle driver was arrested after a police official personally caught the former in the act of sexually exploiting two minors in Barangay Lunzuran last Saturday.

Police Regional Office-9 Information Officer Chief Inspector Helen Galvez identified the tricycle driver as Jimmy Rabaca Wootin, 49 years old, and a resident of Salam Drive, Tumaga.

Based on the report, Wootin was arrested after a police official, identified as Police Supt. Ariel Huesca, personally saw the tricycle driver in the act of sexually molesting the children, a 13-year-old boy and an 8-year-old  girl.

Prior to the incident, the suspect stopped in front of the minors along Veterans Avenue and offered P150 to them to have sexual intercourse with him.

The minors were then brought to a dimly-lit area in Barangay Lunzuran where the suspect proceeded to perform a sexual act in front of the victims.

Huesca, who happened to be patrolling in the area, witnessed the incident, prompting the former to stop and accost the suspect.

Personnel of COMPAC and Police Station 7 together with Tumaga barangay tanods proceeded to the area and brought the suspect to the police station.

The minors were turned over to the Social Development Center 9 in Sta. Barbara for temporary shelter and custody.  (Dan Toribio)
