Sulu kidnappers released Sunday morning two used clothes merchants in exchange of P100,000 in ransom.

Western Mindanao Command information officer Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang said that Ambon Ahamad Blas and Perlita Bagay were recovered by government troops in Barangay Latih, Patikulo, Sulu around 6 a.m.

A military report disclosed that the victims’ relatives paid P100,000 to the kidnappers as what wasdemanded for their freedom.

Blas and Bagay were seized by gunmen in Barangay Baunoh while they were on their way home at Sitio Palar, Liang, Patikul last August 21.

Blas and Bagay returned to their homes after a debriefing by the military.

Several weeks ago, a couple engaged in money lending was also kidnapped and were released several days later after their relatives paid P100,000 in ransom.
Police and military forces were still on hot pursuit operations against the kidnapping group.

The government forces have sought the support of the community for information that would lead to the arrest of the kidnappers. — Dan Toribio Jr.
