Four teachers in Zamboanga City were included in the annual list of Most Inspiring Teachers, a recognition given by a private organization to honor teaching professionals throughout the country.

Melvin Ledesma from Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School, Noreen Catis from the Regional Science High School, Ma. Isabel Conturno of Ayala Central School and Rosanna Villanueva of Zamboanga City High School were among nine nominees from Mindanao who were chosen during the National Search for the Saceda Youth Lead (SYL) Most Inspiring Teachers.

This year, the organization brought in nine (9) nominees from Luzon, eight (8) from Visayas and nine (9) from Mindanao.

The nominees were awarded and honored during the Awarding Ceremony last February 28 at the SYL Formation Cener in Dumaguete city.

The teachers also participated in a formation training from February 25 to 27.

The Most Inspiring Teachers of the Philippines is an annual national award given by Saceda Youth Lead and its significant partners with the aim of empowering and honoring ordinary teachers who have contributed and impacted families and communities extra-ordinarily and have assisted (SYL)  in achieving its mission and vision.

For the past 20 years, Saceda Youth Lead , a leadership development consultancy firm and a youth serving institution of the Philippines under the auspices of the National Youth Commission, continues to empower elementary, high school and college students and professionals to become effective citizens by providing them opportunities in leadership, community service and exchange.
