The City Council has expressed its support to an increase in the honorarium of court workers through a resolution passed during their regular session yesterday.

The increase is expected to benefit around 40 court workers including judges, prosecutors, Public Attorney’s Office personnel and clerks of court.

Councilor Kim Elago, author of the resolution, said that court workers are receiving the amount of P10,000 per month.

Should the measure be realized, the amount will be increased to P20,000 a month.

“It’s high time subi diila honoraria cay el gastos ta subi y el trabajo grabe,” Elago explained.

The city currently has six Metropolitan Trial Courts (MTC’s) and eight Regional Trial Courts (RTC).  (RGAAGo)
