Nearly 700k indigents identified for Cash Transfer Program Print

A total of 642,934 indigents have been identified as beneficiaries for the Cash Transfer Program, a social welfare program providing additional cash grants to the needy.

Program beneficiares under the program will be receiving a P200 cash stipend per month for 2018 and P2,400 in lump sum.

The monthly allowance and the lump sum amount will be increased to P300 and P3,600, respectively, for the years  2019 and 2020.

Ivan Salvador, Department of Social Welfare and Development Information Officer, said that the additional benefit will be given to cushion the harsh effects brought about by RA 10963 or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law (TRAIN.)

“El govierno.. DSWD is trying our best to provide the necessary intervention, aid to sustain el quality of life del maga beneficiaries by providing them with the support that they need especially while we also adjust na maga changes na systema ara,” Salvador said.

Beneficiaries of the program will come from individuals included in the list of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program, social pension and the Listahanan.

The list of beneficiaries for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino and the Social Pension programs have already been prepared.

The DSWD is still preparing to validate 147,498 beneficiaries from the Listahanan program of the department.

Validation starts this April.  (RGAAGo)
